Podcast Book Club - "Drilled"

First of all, what is this event? It's like a book club, but for podcasts. Every month, we choose a different show, listen to it independently, then come together to talk about it. It's a ton of fun, I promise.

This month we're listening to the first season of Drilled, an investigative journalism podcast about "the propaganda campaign of the century — the creation of climate denial." The eight-episode first season tells the story of Exxon's relationship with climate change through interviews with former employees and new documentary sources.

I enjoyed this season when it came out back in 2018. It seems like ever since, it's been picking up buzz. Amy and co. sent all eight episodes of the first season into the feed for a second time last month, so they're near the top if you're looking. The titles run from "The Bell Labs of Energy" to "Winning the War."

Possible discussion questions: Did this need to be a podcast? Does the audio component make it more effective? What new thing is Drilled bringing to the table? Can a show like this reach the people Amy is hoping to reach? Who are those people anyway?
